Ascari

Ascari Cars Ltd. is a British automobile manufacturer based in Banbury, United Kingdom founded by Dutch millionaire Klaas Zwart in 1996.

After a lot of changes initiated by Klaas, the road car got launched as the Ascari Ecosse. In 1999 Klaas did draw the shape for his very own supercar, the Ascari KZ1. Omni Design received the order for the design refinement and the build of the first show car to be shown for the first time to the public at the Birmingham Motorshow in 2000.

The car was well received and the development started soon after. The production car was ready in 2003 and got launched at the opening of the Ascari Race Resort in the south of Spain.

The name Ascari refers to Alberto Ascari, Formula one World Champion in 1952 and 1953 but was also translated as Anglo Scottish CAR Industry.

In 2006 the Ascari KZ1-R was built to compete in GT championships around the world with ultimately scooping the British GT Championship in 2009.
